From Student Council: Help us show support tomorrow (10/11/23) to a fellow student in the area by wearing orange. We are honoring Cade Rudy, a Forreston student who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. We are wearing orange, because that is the color for leukemia awareness.

That's A Bronco Win! Sports Update: All of your Volleyball girls were victorious against AFC last night. Congrats girls on a well deserved victory! Football: HSFB plays at Christian Life 10/6 (7pm) JHFB plays Alden Hebron at home 10/07 (11am)

Sharing for our friends at the Regional Office of Education: They are holding a hiring event at the Lena Community Center on October 12th, from 6-7:30 pm, for those who are interested in working in education. Please share!

Servant Leadership is collecting items this month for the VA in Madison. They will be collecting items such as coats, coloring books, playing cards, and small Christmas trees, from now through October 19th. They will also gladly accept monetary donations.

Thank you to all who participated in Homecoming Week last week. After the class competitions, the overall winner was the junior class. At the dance, Blake Folgate was awarded Homecoming Offensive Player of the Game, Gavin Roth was awarded Defensive Player of the Game, Emma Frautschy was awarded Volleyball Most Spirited, and Kaylynn O'Haver was awarded MVP for the week's games. Your Homecoming King and Queen were Cody Wirth and Whitney Sullivan. Congratulations to all the winners!

This Tuesday, 10/3/23, is the picture retake day for the district. Kurt Koester will be here before school in the library up until about 8:15. If your child missed picture day, please make sure they get their picture taken for yearbook even if you don’t buy a picture packet. If you would like to buy a packet of this photo and didn't already turn one in, the pdf of the form is here: https://5il.co/25v5w If your child did get a photo taken but you would like it re-done, you may do so. If you purchased a packet, the packet plus $5 should be given to Kurt before the photo is taken.

Homecoming Football Update: That's A Bronco Win! The Varsity Football team takes home a huge 63-14 victory over Galva this afternoon! Congrats on the win! UPDATE: JV Football will now play @ South Beloit on 10/2 @ 5:30. Bus leaves at 4pm from OHS. Happy Homecoming Broncos!

The homecoming parade starts in half an hour at 4:45 pm. If you're in town, come outside and see the hard work the kids have put into their floats... theme is "breakfast of champions". Photo is the map of the parade route.

Please mark your calendars! We are having our third annual community forum on Wednesday, Oct. 11th. It will take place from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and begin with a presentation by Superintendent Mrs. Julie Katzenberger, followed by focus groups. All community members are welcome!

High School Volleyball Update: Tonight's normally streamed game on NFHS is experiencing technical difficulties at this time. It is not able to be streamed online. Feel free to come in and support your broncos as we pack the house for Homecoming against Aquin! Go Broncos!

Last Friday, 9/22, the elementary students participated in 'Goodies with Grands' day. The PTO sponsored the event, where they got to enjoy activities and snacks with those people who are grand in their lives!

Just a reminder, the Penny Wars end tomorrow afternoon! Pennies are worth 1 point, silver coins as negative points. Strategy counts! It's all in good fun & competition, but the proceeds will go toward buying supplies for the Stephenson County Veterans Assistance Commission.

GAME CHANGE: The Junior High Football game scheduled for tomorrow 9/26, is now moved to Wednesday 9/27. The time will remain the same at 4:30, but the date has changed. Thank you!
