Today begins Teacher Appreciation Week! The other day I saw a great 'definition' of a teacher as "A multi-tasking educational rockstar who lives to inspire and loves to encourage." We definitely have some rockstars here, please say a thank you to them when you get the chance.

Good morning! Today's highlight is Mrs. Heldt, our life skills teacher. While home, she has been going on runs with her dogs (she says it's really hard to take a selfie with dogs, lol!), and has also been getting the pond at her house ready for summer.

May Day! No, not mayday... it's May 1st, haha!! Today's spotlight is on Mrs. Cahoon-Jackson. Here she is getting ready to come in and get schoolwork ready for her first-graders, learning a new card game, and playing with her dog Stella!

Yay for the sunshine today, just hold on to your hats as it's a windy one! Today's picture is Mrs. Howard with her boys. She has been keeping busy with schoolwork and video meetings, as well as enjoying homemade meals, playing games, and doing puzzles like the one pictured.

Today's spotlight is on Mrs. Maurer. She sent me several pictures, but these are what I could fit in, lol! She has been busy with schoolwork, playing games, hanging with the pets, and doing things outside.

The generous support of the Orangeville community over the years has enabled OEF to offer a first-time post-secondary $500.00 scholarship for the upcoming 2020-2021 school term. Any graduate from Orangeville High School who is currently enrolled in any post-secondary educational/training program may apply. The application is due by August 1, 2020. Today's pictures are from Mrs. Helderman. While we've been closed, she's done a lot to keep busy, and also often goes on walks with her husband & son. Here she is with her dog, and with her son on one of those walks.

Today we highlight Ms. Nowak, school social worker. In addition to checking in with students & working remotely, she has been cooking and staying home. If your student is in need of help at this time, please contact the school & we can make sure Ms. Nowak gets in touch with you.

Sharing this on behalf of the PTO: Teacher Appreciation week is the week of May 4 – 8th. It would be great if students would take time in the next couple weeks to send their teachers hand-written notes or cards. This school closure is just as difficult for them as it is for the students & parents. Also, PTO would like to put together a video for the teachers in district from the students, and they need parental help. If you could snap a picture of your kid(s) holding a thank you sign of some sort, OR record a short video thanking their teacher(s), it would make our video super touching for the teachers. Happy Friday! Today we highlight Mrs. Campbell. She likes to play fetch with Gretchen (see pic), and take her three dogs on long walks on the trail. She has also been reading, planning her summer garden and hoping that warmer weather returns soon!

Happy Earth Day! I hope you can enjoy being outdoors today. The spotlight today is Mrs. McDivitt. She is super busy teaching HS math for us & helping her daughters with their work, but they like to take a walk by the lake every day if they can!

Today's adorable spotlight is Miss Kristi, one of our wonderful paras! She was on maternity leave before we closed, so her time has been taken by a lot of baby snuggles! They have also been doing homework & playing fun games.
